Jonathan Stoud's fabulous, folklore-infused fantasy novel Ptolemy's Gate (the concluding book in The Bartimaeus Trilogy) has won a 2006 "Cybil Award" -- the Young Adult/Children's Lit Bloggers Choice Awards. Click here for a full list of winners, and here for the list of finalists. (Scroll down the pages a wee bit for the lists.) The Cybils website will be running interviews with winning authors and illustrators throughout February and March.
Glad to see Amelia Rules won in the Graphic novel category. It is a sweet, infectious story. It has been described as Peanuts with 21st century sensibilities which I think is an apt description. Both funny and poignant, I highly recommend it.
